Changes at Syntax position the full-service agency for growth

Ottawa, December 4, 2023 – Syntax Strategic (Syntax) is pleased to announce Kate Cornick, formerly a producer with CBC’s The Current, is joining the full-service agency as Director of Media and Public Affairs. Over her six years at CBC, Kate worked across national current affairs radio and local news, leading the production of a two-time award-winning digital interactive news feature. She also spent two years at National Defence, specializing in external and internal communications.

“Kate brings an incredible ability to shape a narrative to inspire action. Her understanding of the Canadian political and media landscapes will bring great value to our clients,” says Jennifer Stewart, President and CEO of Syntax.

The full-service advocacy, communications and marketing firm is also making some changes internally.

Jennifer Madigan has been named as Chief Operating Officer. Jennifer also comes from a news background, working in local and national television news for 15 years before joining Syntax nearly seven years ago. She has since led the growth of Syntax’s media relations and creative content teams. She has developed and managed national awareness campaigns and strategic communications plans and helped clients improve their share of voice and performance in the news.

Lindsay Campbell has been promoted to Director of Strategic Communications. Before Syntax, Lindsay worked in both media and communications. She has been with the firm for less than six months but quickly impressed the team with her writing skills and ability to lead strategic communications planning and execution for clients within the agricultural industry.

Devon Larock has been named Vice President, Finance and Business Operations. Devon has been with Syntax for more than five years and over that time has become an essential part of the company’s business operations.

“We have been very strategic in our decision-making over time and saw growth as an agency during and on the other side of the pandemic. It is important we have the right team leading our files and with today’s changes, I’m confident we do,” says Stewart.
